For a child, it usually means that parts of Halloween, trick-or-treating, candy, etc., but to a diabetic child not allowed to have candy or sweet, do not have to mean that the child can not participate in Halloween activities. It simply means that the parent and the child must come to an agreement about what the child can eat and when you can eat. The parents should set some rules and be sure and monitor children's intake of sweets. It can also be an opportunity for parents and friends of the child use a little creativity to make Halloween enjoyable for the diabetic child.
One option to consider is the trade small toys for candy. The child can participate in trick-or-treating, but instead of candy, parents can ask neighbors, relatives and close friends for replace small toys such as trafficking for the diabetic child. One option that parents should consider allowing children to collect candy during trick-or-treating then the parents can exchange small toys for the bulk of the sweet children. Another option is for parents of diabetic children to host a Halloween party in the that can provide healthy snacks such as popcorn balls and suger-free candy. Once again, Halloween toys can be used for prizes and gifts. Parents can try to make fun games and highlights of the match instead of food and sweets.
With a little creativity and imagination, the parents of a child diabetic can make this a fun-filled, memorable event for your child.
